A Little Spring in our Step!

Well, after a long winter of sledging through snow and ice and then even more snow and ice, there’s finally some spring back in our front yards, in our cars with the windows rolled down, in our wardrobes, and especially in our step! Yes, as we tentatively put away our winter gear, one pair of wooly mittens at a time, Minnesota in general is looking a whole lot bouncier.

Grins are bigger. Kids are audible from the parks and their backyard trampolines. Neighbors have come out of hibernation – if you can’t see them congregating at the end of their driveways, you can catch a waft of their burgers on the grill, and it is making Minnesota a much happier place.

Happy like the smell of rain on the hot pavement while riding a bicycle, says Eric.

Happy like digging in the garden, says Mary.

Happy like a warm breeze, says Nancy.

Yes, it’s exciting to finally be on the cusp of all things outdoors in Minnesota: kids’ sporting events, picnics, cocktails on the deck, going for runs, spending time at the lake, and the sights and sounds of our native birds having returned.

Jean especially looks forward to taking in the Minnesota spring migration. Check out the St. Paul Audubon Society to get information on Tuesday morning Early Bird Walks in May and June from 7 – 9AM along with a schedule for other bird watching field trips and events.

Becky, too, loves bird watching come spring and recommends going to The National Eagle Center in Wabasha to see the eagles nesting. Visit their Facebook Page to learn more about these magnificent birds and discover what’s happening in their world.

And what else has been happening in INTERSOURCE’s world of late? Well, we’ve added a delightful new employee to the team, Kait Ziebell. Kait is our new Director of First Impressions. We definitely liked her right from the get-go and we think you will too! Kait’s bio and image will be up on our website very soon.

In April, INTERSOURCE helped launch a fantastic national charity contest that runs through the end of June, Design for a Difference!

Minnesota designers, architects and design students can select a local charity of their choice for a room redesign and potentially win the grand prize of $20,000 in retail goods and services from International Design Guild (IDG) to bring the project to fruition. Grand prize winners will collaborate with celebrity designer, Mark Brunetz, to complete the project while benefitting from excellent publicity for their business including mention in IDG’s newsletters, website, social media sites, along with a professionally produced video of the makeover project to further promote their business and that of the charity organization.

Participating Minnesota design professionals could also become one of four regional winners receiving $2,500 (retail value) in floor covering as well as round trip transportation, hotel accommodations and meals, to participate in the Grand Prize city’s winning makeover project.

And the best part, it’s incredibly easy to enter!

Just complete and submit the DFAD Entry Form identifying your chosen charity and your written ideas for a room makeover. That’s all there is to it!

Call or stop by if you have any additional questions, or go to Registration forms are being accepted until June 30th. And, please spread the word! Let’s impact our community by giving a local charity a new room remodel and Minnesota a grand prize winner!
