MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 1, 2013 – IDG Designer Program spokesperson Mark Brunetz of Clean House fame has paired up with INTERSOURCE, Inc. to launch Design for a Difference, the first-ever cause-related interior design competition. The contest is open to any interior design professional or design student and provides the opportunity to win $20,000 in goods and services to makeover a space for their favorite local charity. Designers can register for free and contest entries will be accepted until June 30, 2013 at www.IDGdesigner.com.
According to Nancy Nelsen-Flom, a co-owner of INTERSOURCE, Inc., “Design for a Difference grants the opportunity to work with a nationally known designer and a local charity to potentially provide them with a beautiful re-designed space while generating awareness for our designers—it’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
The contest will award one grand prize winner $20,000 in retail goods and services for a local charity space redesign and four regional winners, each $2,500 in flooring for their nominated charity. In addition, the grand prize winner will co-host a professionally produced video of the makeover with Emmy® Award winning designer Mark Brunetz. The regional winners will also be flown to the grand prize winning city to participate as a part of the design team on the winning project. Brunetz’ added, “A well-designed space can inspire people, build self-esteem and create endless opportunities for personal growth and productivity. I’m thrilled to be a part of a competition that joins the strength of designers and IDG showroom owners in benefitting local charities.”
Charities who would like to be nominated for the redesign can contact Nancy Nelsen-Flom at (612) 377-0499 or email@example.com for more information.
